A small repair can change an important detail of a family jewelry piece. If a clasp is replaced, a link is added, or a stone is reset, take a moment to update the item’s record after the work is done.
Start with a fresh photo. If the repair changed how the piece looks, take a close photo of that area and another photo of the whole item. Add the repair date and a short note about what was done. Keep the repair receipt or service note with the item’s other papers, and make it clear which piece it belongs to. If you do not know the material or weight of a replacement part, leave that detail blank until you can confirm it.
Keep earlier photos and notes if they help tell the item’s history. You can label them by date, such as “before repair” and “after repair,” so a family member can follow what changed. A jeweler’s note may describe the work, while your own record can help you remember when it happened; neither needs to be treated as a new purchase receipt.
AurumSafe helps you organize jewelry photos, receipts, karat, weight and notes in one place. Keeping a simple update after a repair can make the record more useful the next time someone in your family checks it.
