The Pendant and the Chain May Have Different Stories
Have you ever bought a pendant separately from the chain you wear it with? They may look like one set today, but their purchase details can be different.

Have you ever bought a pendant separately from the chain you wear it with? They may look like one set today, but their purchase details can be different.
When you make a jewelry record, start by listing the pendant and chain as separate pieces. Give each one a simple name, such as “flower pendant” and “fine chain.” Take a clear photo of each on its own, then add a photo of them together if that is how you usually wear them.
Keep the receipt with the piece it describes. If one receipt lists both items, note that. If you are unsure which item a receipt belongs to, leave a note to check later instead of guessing. Add only details you can confirm, such as a documented karat or weight, and keep the source with that detail. A jeweler’s estimate and the original purchase amount are different records, so label them clearly.
This small bit of separation can make your family’s records easier to understand when a piece is repaired, gifted, or passed to someone else. AurumSafe helps you organize jewelry photos, receipts, karat, weight, notes, and estimated gold value in one place.
